Coronavirus (COVID-19) travel restrictions in Gibraltar – updated 4 June 2021

Who can travel to Gibraltar?

Gibraltar is open to visitors. Requirements upon arrival depend on the countries you have visited in the 14 days prior to your arrival, and whether they are on the green, amber or red lists. See the offical Gibraltar Tourism board website for comprehensive information.

All travelers must complete a Passenger Locator Form.

A free COVID-19 Lateral Flow rapid test is required for those arriving by air from a green list country and have not been to any other country 10 days prior to arrival in Gibraltar. Book a free test here. If you are remaining in Gibraltar for more than 7 days, you must also take a second test on day 5. You do not need to provide evidence of vaccination, or self-isolate.

Tests are not required for arrivals at the land border from green list countries provided you have not been to any other country 10 days prior to arrival in Gibraltar.

However if you have been to a country on the amber list in the previous 10 days, you must book a COVID-19 PCR test before your arrival in Gibraltar, self-isolate for 5 days after arrival, and take a second PCR test on day 5.

No unvaccinated person traveling into Gibraltar by air who has been in a red list country in the 10 day period preceding their date of arrival may enter Gibraltar. Some exemptions apply. Those allowed in will need to arrange a COVID-19 PCR test in advance, and self-isolate for 10 days after arrival.

Exceptions for fully vaccinated passengers:

Fully vaccinated travelers arriving from amber list or red list countires must book their Lateral Flow rapid test in advance, take the test on arrival at the airport, and take another on Day 5. Travelers must present their valid vaccination certificate on arrival.

Note for travelers from the UK: Passengers who transit into Spain and return to Gilbraltar for their flight back to the UK are reminded that when arriving in the UK, they must follow the rules for the hightest-risk country or territory they have been in or passed through in the previous 10 days. Spain is currently on the UK Government’s Amber list.
