Working overseas? Get travel insurance for your holidays.

With flexible travel insurance that covers more than 230 activities, it’s no wonder expats keep turning to World Nomads for travel insurance for their overseas getaways and holiday breaks.
World Nomads was founded by, and is operated by, people who have travelled and worked overseas. We know that one of the best things about being an expat is the opportunity to explore neighbouring countries and places.
There are three main reasons expats keep coming back to World Nomads for their travel insurance:
We know it’s not easy finding travel insurance when you’re not living in your home country, so we have designed our travel insurance to be flexible, so you can purchase it for as long, or as little, as you need.
Our travel insurance is available to people traveling or working outside of their country of residence; be sure you check the policy wording terms and conditions for the eligibility criteria and what we mean by ‘country of residence’. You can purchase online using a credit card, as you don’t have to be in your country of residence to purchase it; however, there are some conditions to this, including serving a 72-hour waiting period before cover applies. So please check the policy wording before purchasing to understand the cover and ensure it meets your needs.
World Nomads designed its travel insurance around what our travelers most often claim for and tell us they want. In addition we cover more than 200 activities and events
Expats must be aware this is travel insurance not health insurance.
This means it will not cover you for ongoing medical care. It also excludes many pre-existing conditions as well as any medical treatment that is not considered necessary by our medical specialists. If you’re not sure if you’ll be covered for something, call us and we can help.
I was returning to my guest house from the riverfront area in Phnom Penh, Cambodia where I was checking my emails and uploading my pictures to the internet from a cafe. At around 10.30 pm, about halfway to my guest house, a motorbike with two young people approached me from behind. My backpack was violently taken from me, and the motorbike drove away quickly. I have already contacted the local police and obtained a police report for the incident.

World Nomads policies cannot cover claims due to Pre-Existing Medical Conditions (PEMC), regardless of whether the condition is serious or not (this includes if you're on separate or joint policies). You can still purchase a World Nomads policy, but the PEMC exclusion is not removable.
For travel insurance providers that offer cover on PEMC, visit the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) Money Helper website, or call 0800 138 7777. BIBA's (The British Insurance Brokers' Association) Find Insurance Service offers information on serious PEMCs and travel insurance providers that may cover these conditions. You can also contact them on 0370 950 1790.
If you need medical assistance or emergency medical evacuation our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year before and during your trip.
