Uma lesão no joelho nos EUA

Como cuidamos deste nômade quando se machucou esquiando nos EUA

Eu deveria ter encerrado o meu dia e ter ido para o bar beber algum drink para me aquecer, mas não, decidi descer a montanha mais uma vez. Enquanto eu descia, meu esqui esquerdo se chocou com o direito. O choque acabou lesionando o meu joelho esquerdo e fazendo com que eu rolasse montanha abaixo por algum tempo. Quando eu parei de rodar e capotar pela montanha, percebi que não podia me mover. A minha sorte é que outra pessoa estava passando pelo local e chamou os socorristas da estação de esqui que chegaram rapidamente.

A Knee Injury in the USA

How we helped when this nomad got injured while skiing in the USA

I should have called it quits for the day and headed into a bar for a warming Schnapps. Instead, I decided to take the last ski run down the mountain. As I was flying down the slopes, my left ski collided with my right, blowing out my left knee and causing me to tumble down the mountain. When eventually I came to a stop, I couldn't move. Thankfully, a passing skier called the ski patrol team and they came to my rescue within minutes.

A brain aneurysm in Switzerland

How we helped when this nomad was urgently hospitalised

I'm young and never imagined I'd end up in hospital with a life-threatening condition. With no warning, while travelling in Switzerland, I had a brain aneurysm, which is an abnormal ballooning of an artery and, when it bursts, it can result in stroke.

It was a terrifying experience.

I was in hospital with specialist care and surgery for ten days followed by weeks recovery in Zurich before I could come home. World Nomads really looked after me and flew my parents over to be with me while I recovered.
