Yes. If you’re unlucky enough to be injured by a cyclone or hurricane, our emergency assistance team can help you get to the nearest medical centre so you can receive the attention you need. They can also move you to another treatment centre if the one you're in isn't adequate for your medical needs. If the emergency assistance team decides you’re too badly hurt to stay on, they can take you home providing it's medically appropriate to do so. You can find out further information here
If you’re travelling on the Explorer Plan, and you’re caught up in a hurricane, cyclone or natural disaster, we can help you get out of the country you’re in to the nearest safe location.
As the policy is outside of its cooling off period and you’ve travelled on it, there are no partial refunds. You are, however, welcome to make a claim for any expenses you might have incurred.
Funnily, we get asked this a lot; so here’s something we prepared earlier, a step by step guide on how to claim
It’s important that you contact your emergency assistance team as soon as you can so that they can help you out. Their details can be found in the following page as well as on your certificate of insurance.
We’re here to help if you have a question about travel insurance.
