If you purchased the Explorer Plan and your money was stolen or lost while carried on your person or left in a locked safety deposit box then cover may be available.
We define money as: cash, any legal currency, travellers’ cheques, cheques, postal and money orders held by you for social domestic and/or pleasure purposes.
You can claim up to €625 per person for lost or stolen money although there is a maximum payable limit of €250 per person for cash unless you are under 16 years, in which case the maximum payable is €65.
There is also an excess of €90 applied per person in the event of a claim (no excess applied to cash claims for those under 16 years).
Your claim may be denied if you did not exercise reasonable care in protecting your money against theft.
Travel insurance is not designed to cover everything, so take the time to read the full description of cover in the policy wording so you'll know exactly what is and isn't covered. If you have any further questions please get in contact with us.
We’re here to help if you have a question about travel insurance.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact many travellers around the world. Before you buy, read the travel alerts and check government travel advice and restrictions for your destination(s) as these may impact cover, or your ability to travel. NOTE: A 48-hour waiting period (time excess) applies to some Coronavirus-related cancellation cover; other waiting periods may apply.
