While on top of the rock, I became very sick – dizzy, aches and pain all over, repetitive vomiting, diarrhea and cold chills in 36 degree weather. I asked a stranger for help who pointed me in the direction of St. Bernard's Hospital in Gibraltar. There I was given an IV of Ciprofloxacin, saline, ondansetron and paracetamol. I was also prescribed the antibiotic ciprofloxacin and took pills for the next four days as the infection was eradicated. The doctor assumed salmonella poisoning from something I ate in Morocco.
