Family policies include one or two adults who are less than 66 years of age at the time the policy is purchased, and up to seven dependent children.
Dependent children are unmarried and rely on you for support, and are:
Your natural, adopted, step or foster children; and
Under 21 years of age; or
Full-time students under 25 years of age; or
Mentally or physically incapable of self-support.
Foster children must be under your legal guardianship and reside at your same address.

If you suffer a medical emergency and are in the hospital for more than 24 hours, or a physician certifies that it is medically necessary for you to return home, your policy provides coverage to get the dependent children under your care back to your home province. Benefits includes the extra cost of airfare to get your children home and the cost of a qualified escort when the airline requires it.
The dependent children must be travelling with you, be under your care during the trip and be covered under this policy.
