Is travel insurance mandatory to travel to certain countries?

For information relating to policies purchased prior to 18 May 2022, please check the Policy Document provided with your purchase. You can contact us if you need this sent to you again. For policies purchased on or from 18 May 2022 please see below.

Some countries require visitors to buy travel or medical insurance, and show proof of it on entry, as a requirement of entry to their country.

What to consider about Mandatory Travel insurance requirements:

  • Country entry and visa requirements can change frequently, and many countries have introduced travel insurance requirements for all travellers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • When planning a trip - you should always check with your tour operator or the country’s Ministry of Tourism to determine visa and entry requirements.
  • Are there any specific coverage levels mandated?  If so - check the benefit levels of the travel insurance plans on offer to make sure you're choosing the right plan for your travel.
