About World Nomads
World Nomads is a fast-growing, global travel insurance company. We provide inspirational stories, safety tips and specialised travel insurance for adventurous and independent travelers. Our online travel insurance offers cover to travellers from more than 100 countries and allows you to buy and claim online, 24/7, even while already travelling.
Our travel insurance focuses on what we believe is important to travelers: emergency medical and evacuation costs, baggage, trip cancellation, trip delay and trip interruption costs. We also offer cover for more than 150 adventure sports and activities, plus tech and gear. Our policies are underwritten by a suite of specialist travel insurers that provide 24/7 emergency assistance, customer service and claims support, making us a top choice for many of the world's leading adventure, independent and youth travel brands.

Meet the team
Jonathan Frankham
Jonathan Frankham is an established Senior Executive with over 10 years’ experience in multinational organisations, including Big 4 and FTSE 100 insurers.
With a proven track record of delivering change and process improvement in challenging and fast-paced environments and leading cross-functional multi-location teams, Jonathan was a natural fit to take on the role of General Manager, UK & Europe at nib Group in May 2022, having previously served as the group's Divisional Financial Controller and Head of Internal Audit.
Brad Bonser
Brad has worked in the travel insurance industry for nearly 20 years, including 10 years in Sydney, Australia in product and underwriting roles for the World Nomads Group and nib Travel.
He has developed targeted products in markets around the world, including being the first to launch COVID-19 cover to the Australian market when borders reopened. He now heads up nib's UK branch, providing World Nomads youth and adventure travel insurance, both direct and via distribution partners and affiliate networks.
Nick Pound
Nick worked in the London insurance market in the early ‘90s before joining the tech boom at the end of the decade. He was then enticed down to Sydney in 2001 to help set up World Nomads, and has worked here ever since.
Now residing in the UK again, Nick works in the Partnerships team, exploring opportunities with large global brands. He has a significant presence within the travel industry having served on the management board for one of its leading associations, WYSE Travel Confederation. Nick is a regular attendee at global conferences, often speaking about World Nomads' products and services.
Our Remuneration
We receive a commission from our underwriter for the services we provide on an intermediary basis. The commission is calculated as a percentage of premium, and it varies depending on the profitability of the underwriter for all permitted policies arranged for the underwriter through nib Travel Services Europe Limited (UK Branch). The commission range is between 40-50% net after payment of taxes and levies.
Compensation
You may be entitled to compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if we are unable to meet our obligations.
This will depend on the type of insurance transacted and the circumstances of your claim. Further details are available from the FSCS (www.fscs.org.uk).
Insurance Premium Tax Rates
Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) is a tax on general insurance premiums. IPT, either at the standard rate or higher rate, is accounted for on most general insurance premiums. While most taxable premiums are subject to the standard rate of 12%, the higher rate of 20% is applicable to all travel insurance. Learn more about these rates.
