Online travel insurance lets you buy, extend, and manage your travel insurance digitally—anywhere, anytime. World Nomads offers cover for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and stolen belongings if lost by carrier, and more.
That means you can purchase, extend or make a claim online - plus you can choose between two travel insurance plans.
What’s covered by World Nomads online travel insurance plans?
World Nomads offers Australian travellers online travel insurance cover that includes essential benefits that matter the most when you’re overseas, such as:

- Overseas medical cover: For those times when you need immediate medical assistance.

What’s not covered?
Travel insurance doesn’t cover everything, and it’s important to know where limits apply. World Nomads doesn’t cover:
- Incidents arising from being intoxicated by or addicted to drugs or alcohol.
- Ongoing medical treatment once you return to Australia.
- Delayed luggage on your return journey to Australia.
- Unattended belongings.
- Trip delays caused by events already known or expected.

Can I extend my policy online?
You can extend your policy online. Eligibility and limitations may apply, like if your policy has expired (don’t worry, if your policy has expired you can purchase a new one). A 72 hour waiting period applies if travel insurance is purchased outside Australia. Can I buy a plan online if I’m already overseas?
World Nomads provides travel insurance for Australians already overseas, and allows you to buy coverage online no matter where you are. While you can buy travel insurance online, waiting periods may apply and some benefits may not be immediately available, so if you can, you should consider travel insurance before you go. A 72 hour waiting period does apply if travel insurance is purchased while outside Australia.
