I cut myself on my prepuce unintentionally while I was shaving my pubic hair with a razor early in the morning. The cut hurt a little, but it quickly infected while I was in between places, traveling. I had to quickly go to the nearest hospital because it started to hurt considerably and I noticed it was swelling up quickly and getting red.

In addition, we also have emergency assistance teams who can assist you – keeping you informed, putting you in contact with consular officials, arranging medical care, and getting in touch with your family for you.
Travel insurance isn’t designed to cover everything. We often see claims for terrorism that we have to decline because some plans just don't cover expenses related to terrorism. They include:

Our travellers know that staying aware at all times is key to staying safe, but there are some things you can never anticipate, and a terrorist event is one of those.
A terrorism event is defined as: An event that has been declared a terrorism event by the government of your country of residence or by the government of the country where the event happened, not including a terrorist attack that involves the use or threat of nuclear, chemical, or biological devices or cyber terrorism.
In the event of a terrorist attack, our travel insurance (Explorer Plan only) offers limited cover:
You cancel or cut short your trip: If a terrorism event occurs within 20 kilometres of your booked accommodation within 7 days of your trip start date or while you are on your trip. The Explorer plan may cover for your non-refundable expenses, and if your trip is cut short, some additional expenses incurred to get home, too.
You decide to stay and travel: If you decide to stay and travel, as long as there is no directive from the Foreign Ministry of your Country of Residence advising you to leave the area/to not travel to the area, your cover will continue.
You’re injured or die in a terrorist attack: If you’re injured or die in a terrorist attack, our policies may provide cover for emergency medical and dental expenses abroad. You can’t have travelled against the advice of the Foreign Ministry of your Country of Residence advising against All Travel, or participated in the terrorist activity (obviously).
You miss your flight or it is delayed: You are unable to reach your departure point, flight is delayed or your return flight home is delayed due to a terrorism event. The Explorer plan may offer cover for additional travel and accommodation expenses.
You are forced to move from your pre booked accommodation: You are on your trip and after checking in, you become aware your pre booked accommodation is uninhabitable due to a terrorism event. We will pay for the same standard of accommodation if you are forced to move into an alternative at the same destination, if your travel provider does not provide an alternative.
If you have to leave where you are staying and leave your stuff behind: If you are told that you have to evacuate the country you are in and you leave personal belongings behind, there will be cover under this policy (up to the maximum benefit limits).
Our 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance Team can help you navigate next steps if you’re caught up in the chaos and aftermath of an attack.
Terrorist events are understandably traumatic. However, if you’re worried one might occur, or following an attack you want to travel elsewhere or return home, we may consider that to be a change of mind in the circumstances, and we won’t cover you for those costs to change your plans.
In addition, our policy does not cover:
You must also remember that if you knowingly put yourself in danger, or are aware of events that may lead to a claim, this is excluded under the policy. This means if there’s a warning of a terrorist attack or you were likely to have had knowledge there might be one, and you put yourself at risk by travelling to or staying in the vicinity of that area, then your cover may be excluded.
The policy isn’t designed to cover everything so take the time to read the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions in the policy wording for full details, so there are no surprises if you need to use it. If you’re not sure if something is covered get in touch.

I was trying to go back home by taxi. But I had to change taxi and walk for 30m to get another taxi. It was 7pm and dark. At the time, I was surrounded by 3 or 4 men. A man choked me and another guy tore off my small bag, and they ran away. There were a camera, passport, watch, wallet with 300 rand and credit card, cellphone, USB Internet modem and so on. I explained to taxi driver and he helped me to bring home without pay. And my house owner helped me to go to police station and explained everything.

My wallet was stolen in a bus in Bulgaria, and I could not reach the thief. I could just see she was a woman. I lost my passport, my driving licence, and some other stuff such as some cash. I made a police report regarding the matter, which is in Bulgarian language. It says e.g. my passport and my driving lisence were stolen. I had to go to Finnish Embassy of Bulgaria to get a new passport. However, they only issued emergency passports so that is what I had to get. However, that only lasted for a month, and I had to get another proper passport (for 5 years -my previous passport before the theft was obviously this 5 year passport as well) now in Finnish Embassy of Sweden where I was at that time. Driving licence I could renew only in Finland, and because I came to Finland for the first time after my trip now during the summer 2015, I renewed my driving licence at this time.

Serious accidents or illnesses can happen at any time during your trip, whether you’re trekking through the Eurasian Steppe or (not so) simply crossing the road in Vietnam. And if it’s bad enough to end your trip mid-way or if our medical teams recommend you return to your country of residence for treatment, our repatriation cover can help get you home safely.
The cost of medical evacuations can vary, depending on a number of circumstances, including the remoteness of the location from which the evacuation might occur, as well as the type of medical care required for injuries or illnesses incurred. That's what our emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance in all of our plans is designed to cover.
The first step is to get medical help.
It’s essential that you get in contact with our 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance Team as soon as possible so that our team can support you from the time your fall sick or get injured until the time you get home.
Our 24/7 Medical Emergency Assistance Team can make arrangements and get pre-authorisation for your repatriation home. Our doctors and nurses have seen some horrific accidents and illnesses and have helped thousands of travellers get home safely to fully recover. Our teams are trained to help in these situations, negotiating the complexities of hospitals, specialist transportation, airline approvals and medical escorts so you (and your family) can focus on your recovery.
World Nomads offers benefits for medical issues related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) under the Medical section. If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 while abroad, your benefits include evacuation or repatriation if deemed necessary by us and in consultation with your attending physician.

Travel insurance is made to cover emergency treatment abroad and, if necessary, to provide cover to rearrange your initial travel plans or for specialist medical transportation to get you back home. If you suddenly fall ill or are injured, it’s essential to contact our 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance team once you are aware you will be admitted as an inpatient for at least one night. That way, we can ensure you get the right care from the beginning to the end – from initial emergency treatment in a local hospital, through to medical repatriation home if medically necessary.
