Want to cancel your policy?
Maybe you've decided that Santorini has nothing on the towering cliffs of Cornwall, so no longer want to travel. Or perhaps your plans just changed right after you bought the policy.
Either way, all World Nomads Travel Insurance policies have ‘cooling off’ periods, within which you may be able to cancel your policy without any penalty. Outside of this period, if you want to cancel your policy you can contact us.
The cooling off period for World Nomads insurance purchased by European Union residents is 14 days, with some conditions.
How does the cooling off period work?
If you cancel your policy with World Nomads within the cooling off period, we will refund your premium as long as you aren’t using your policy in any way. This could mean that:
- You haven’t travelled under your policy or started your trip;
- You are not making a claim or have not incurred a claim;
- You are not exercising any other right under the policy.
What is the difference between cancelling my policy and lodging a claim for cancellation expenses?
Cancelling your policy under the cooling off period means you won’t be eligible to make claims under the policy, such as for medical travel insurance or baggage travel insurance. This also includes cancellation expenses.
If you’re not sure what you want to do, please contact us (time is of the essence!) and we can help further explain the options available to you.
How do I cancel my policy under my cooling off period?
If you are eligible to cancel your policy within its cooling off period, you can cancel it by:
- For World Nomads members - logging into your membership and cancelling online
- Contacting us
