Who pays depends on what’s happened!
If it’s an emergency situation where hospital admission and/or medical evacuation is required we can arrange to pay the hospital directly once we’ve confirmed your cover for the event.
However to do this we’d need to know something had occurred. That means you, a friend or family member must contact the 24/7 Emergency Assistance Team with as much detail as possible about what has happened. This should include if possible where you are and details of the medical facilities you are at.
Once we’ve confirmed your cover and agree to pay the medical costs, we can organise payments directly to the hospital.
If you need urgent medical assistance and we can’t confirm your claim immediately, we may choose to pay your costs directly to the hospital on the understanding that if we later decide you weren’t covered for the claim, you’ll pay us back. If it's not an emergency and the costs aren’t excessive (e.g. you visit the doctor at the local medical centre) then we suggest you pay upfront, keep all your receipts and make a claim online once the treatment is finished.
If you’re not sure about what to do, contact the World Nomads Claims team who can help. is only a summary of cover and does not include the full terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the policy. You should read your policy wording in full so you understand what is and isn’t covered. That way there won’t be any surprises if you need to use it. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
