Travelling on a one way ticket? Don’t have a return flight booked? No problem! You can still buy a policy, but read on for details of how your cover may be affected when travelling one way.
The good news is that you don’t need a return ticket to buy this travel insurance. Unlike other travel insurers, you can also buy the policy while already travelling with or without a ticket home.
So, no need for a return ticket, BUT as the cost of a return ticket is considered a part of any normal trip cost, this means that if you must return home and you don't have a return ticket, we'll deduct from your claim either:
- the cost you would have normally paid for an economy class airfare at the carrier's regular published rates for your journey home; or
- our actual cost incurred.
But we’ll always deduct the one that’s the lesser amount.
Our 24/7 Emergency Assistance Team can help find and book a suitable airfare, so please advise them of your travel arrangements when you call.
If you have no other claim from which we can deduct this cost, we'll seek recovery of the cost of the transport home directly from you, following your return home (see Section 2 - Medical Evacuation & Repatriation for details).
This is only a summary of cover and does not include the full terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the policy. You should read your Policy Document in full, so you understand what is and isn’t covered. If you are unsure about your level of travel cover, please contact us for help.
