Yes, you can extend your policy online. Eligibility and limitations may apply, like if your policy has expired (don’t worry, if your policy has expired you can purchase a new one). A 72 hour waiting period applies if travel insurance is purchased while outside New Zealand. Extending your policy is simple, log into your account and purchase additional coverage before your current policy expires. For more information check out our article Extending your trip.
World Nomads provides travel insurance for New Zealanders already overseas, and allows you to buy coverage online no matter where you are. While you can buy travel insurance online, waiting periods may apply - a 72 hour waiting period does apply if purchased while outside New Zealand - and some benefits may not be immediately available, so if you can, you should consider travel insurance before you go.
