If you're still within the free-look period of your policy, you can cancel your plan via your member account. The number of days in the free-look (also called a cooling-off or satisfaction guarantee) period depends on your state. Typically this time frame is 10 days, but some states don't offer one. Once the free-look or cooling off period has passed, your policy is nonrefundable.
To be eligible for a refund on your premium during the free-look period, you must not have used your policy in any way. This means:
- You must not have left home or started your trip (if you purchased your policy on the day of your departure, we consider that as starting your trip.)
- You must not have made a claim or intend to make a claim.
- You must not have exercised any other rights under the policy, such as using the travel assistance services.
If you purchased as a guest and don’t have a member account, you can create one here. You'll just need to input your email address and the policy number from your last purchase.
If you need to make changes to your policy, including extensions, read our article on amendments. Please refer to yor policy for more details on the free look or review period. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us - we're happy to help.
