Can I buy a travel insurance policy if I'm already on vacation?
Yes, you can be traveling anywhere in the world and still buy a policy. You can purchase it for any duration you choose (from 1 day up to 180 days). Check the policy wording for details on when coverage begins and ends.

If the airlines lose my gear, am I covered?
Yes, World Nomads travel insurance provides coverage for lost or stolen baggage. Exclusions apply. For more details click here.

What is covered if I need to cancel my vacation?
There's coverage in both Standard and Explorer plans for the transport and accommodation expenses you've already paid for if you can't travel because the doctor certifies that you're medically unfit to travel, or you, your travel buddy or a close relative is hospitalized or dies.

What if I get sick while on my vacation?
If you’re injured or get sick while you’re traveling, and you’ve bought the policy for the activities you’re doing, you can be covered for: hospitalization; out-patient treatment for medical emergencies; prescribed medicines, X-rays, and laboratory tests; and being brought home, if medically necessary.

I went to the hospital because I felt a fever and upon further testing they found it to be dengue fever. They also found an infection in my liver, which made the process of getting better take longer than usual. I stayed in the hospital for 8 days before I was discharged.
