Yes, Canadians can buy a World Nomads policy when already overseas.
You can be travelling and still buy a policy – you don't have to be in your home province or within Canada to do so. However, a 48-hour waiting period applies for coverage of any injury or illness, counting from the date you set the policy to begin on. After the 48-hour waiting period, you will be eligible for the full benefits of the policy.
